Pittsburgh Against Hunger in Haiti
This Saturday our church, West Hills Christian Church, conducted our 2nd Annual Pittsburgh Against Hunger in Haiti (PAHH) event. During this event, we bagged food for the hungry in Haiti, one of the world’s poorest nations. And to add insult to injury, they have been recently hit by 4 Katrina-like hurricanes, devastating 60% of their crops! The food we bagged was a simple, yet highly noutrish bag containing rice, soy, chick boullioun for flavoring, assorted Vitamins, & dehydrated vegetables. This package was developed by some of the world’s leading food scietists. We worked with Kids Against Hunger and the Lifeline Christian Mission to make this happen. At the end of the day we sent over 100,000 meals to Haiti! What an awesome but more importantly, humbling experience! |
