So the Pens fell out of the Conference Playoff outlook this past week. They’ve lost 13 of their past 19 games, and nothing’s changed. Maybe nothing should? Maybe they just need to endure and consistent winning will beging again tomorrow with the Flyers (23-10-9, 3rd Place), Washington (27-13-3, 2nd Place) on Wednesday, and Anaheim (22-17-5, 6th Place in the West) on Friday?
If you’ve watched anything of the Pens the past few weeks, you’d suggest they won’t start the winning this week, and that’s perfectly understandable. But how long will Sid and his team keep losing? I can’t see it going much further. Remember, this team has 2 of the top 3 scoring leaders, and a handful of guys only 6 months removed from the Stanley Cup Finals. There are pieces this season that just seem to not be filled from last season, but I keep faith in Shero to make any personnel moves necessary. We aren’t at the All-Star break yet, so that could be a good thing…time to make up for the losses.
Well, here’s to hoping something, anything happens this week!
Let’s Go Pens!
