{"id":1451,"date":"2011-02-01T16:04:43","date_gmt":"2011-02-01T21:04:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.wjfuoco.com\/?p=1451"},"modified":"2014-11-21T10:27:40","modified_gmt":"2014-11-21T15:27:40","slug":"israel-day-4-leaving-the-galilee","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.wjfuoco.com\/index.php\/2011\/02\/israel-day-4-leaving-the-galilee\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel &#8211; Day 4&#8230;leaving the Galilee"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>\u2013 Monday, February 1, 2011 \u2013<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Well, Day #4 of touring is complete, plus our trip to Jerusalem!\u00a0 We changed hotels and towns this evening.\u00a0 We enjoyed our time at the Ron Beach Hotel in Tiberias and the mornings waking up and evenings going to bed along the Sea of Galilee were priceless!\u00a0 However, we&#8217;re ready to refocus and take in the specific sites right in and around Jerusalem, plus some cities to the east and south!<\/p>\n<p>Back, recapping today, we first saw the Church of the Primacy of Peter, an area where Jesus may have told Peter Jesus would build his church upon him.\u00a0 We next went to the town of Capernaum, where Peter had family, and Jesus spent many nights.\u00a0 We got to see there the original foundation stones of the synagogue that Jesus taught in, wonderful!\u00a0 Next, we headed to Nazareth Village, a reenactment\/model of a working farm, similar to the time Jesus would have been alive.\u00a0 It provided us a great perspective of what life would have been like when Jesus was a boy there.\u00a0 Moving west of Nazareth, we headed to Megiddo, ancient Tel with roughly 35 layers of strata and previous cities.\u00a0 This city controlled the entire Jezreel Valley and the trade routes running near.\u00a0 After this, we went to the top of Mount Carmel, were Elijah competed w\/ the prophets of Baal to prove if their god was greater than our God (you should know who won that fight! &#8211; 1 Kings 18).\u00a0 Lastly, we went to the Mediterrean Coast and saw the ancient Roman aqueduct that feed fresh water to the city of Caesarea, where Pontius Pilate worked, built by Herod the Great, and Paul stayed while on trial (Herod&#8217;s Palace specifically!).\u00a0 After Caesarea, we took the 2 hour drive to Jerusalem.\u00a0 Long day but I hope you enjoy the 400 or so pictures and videos from today!<\/p>\n<p>Shalom! \u00a0Today&#8217;s pictures are <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wjfuoco.com\/zenphoto\/2011-Israel\/Israel-Day4-2011-02-01\/\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a>!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[FLOWPLAYER=http:\/\/www.wjfuoco.com\/movies\/2011-Israel\/Israel-Day4-NazarethVillage.flv,320,240]<\/p>\n<p><strong>A quick panorama of Nazareth Village.<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">[FLOWPLAYER=http:\/\/www.wjfuoco.com\/movies\/2011-Israel\/Israel-Day4-MtCarmel.flv,320,240]<\/p>\n<p><strong>A view from atop Mt.
