I think it's very fair to compare. No other job compares to the POTUS, so comparison's of spending in administrations will be made; when spending in the first 20 months of one presidency will outspend the 8 years of another, that's a cause for comparison.

As for RomneyCare not being a reason for a write off of ObamaCare, I also think that's false. Both had many similar qualities and I'm more inclined to see, especially as of late, that this is not the reform folks are looking for.

Now as for "war"/defense spending compared to healthcare spending, yea, sure is pretty goofy. However, to offer the ability to even have a life to have healthcare for, our security needs to be in place. Should it be a goal to reduce defense spending, indeed, but our security is of utmost importance so that we even have life to care for as a domestic issue.

Therefore, healthcare reform should take place. As you pointed out to me via this article, (<a href="http://www.care2.com/causes/health-policy/blog/massachusetts-not-guilty-of-killing-health-care-reform/)" target="_blank">http://www.care2.com/causes/health-policy/blog/ma...</a> Massachusetts isn't to blame for killing healthcare reform. Therefore, real solutions need to be be-partisan for something of this magnitude to be done.....and done right.

Thanks for pointing that out, that was a typo because I didn't mean to imply Healthcare was an "outlandish pet project". I did a strikethrough of the word "these".

I don't think it fair to compare the spending of the administrations. Bush started 2 wars and was not faced with the economic troubles Obama was faced with when entering office, of course we will need to spend more now we must maintain military spending and also deal with a hurting economy and a failing healthcare system. Maybe RomneyCare did not work successfully but it's not a reason to write off all attempts to fix a deplorable system that rewards healthcare CEO's by denying life to people. I am unsettled at how critics of Healthcare base there opinions on government spending. Why no backlash to the money spent on war? The cost of fixing healthcare is only a fraction of what we have spent on war since 2003. Healthcare Reform should not be something to be feared, we all know the status quo is unacceptable and inaction is the only thing worth fearing. The 2008 election was a mandate to fix Healthcare more than anything else. Obama does need to step it up but not in that direction, he needs to do what we put him there for.
